ProTag Radio Antenna Options

 

We offer two different types of antenna for the radio module of our ProTag Mainboard; internal and external.

  • The internal antenna is a short length of wire, directly attached to the module (lower module in the picture below)
  • The external antenna mounts to the outside and connects to the radio module via a short connecting cable (upper module in the picture below)

 

 

Comparison

  • The internal antenna does not require a hole to be drilled in the case, and cannot be damaged by rough handling
  • In a plastic casing, Both antennas have much the same performance
  • In a metal casing, the external antenna has superior performance

If your casing is made of metal, we recommend the external antenna. If it is made of plastic, we recommend the internal antenna.
